JUBILEE YEAR
We are Pilgrims of Hope
Jubilee Year Assembly
The GIFT Team began the academic year 2025-26 by reminding the children about the Jubilee Year, exploring its meaning and significance. Pupils had the opportunity to discuss their own pledges and commitments, reflecting on how they could live out the values of forgiveness, generosity, and service in their daily lives. This activity encouraged everyone to think about how they can make a positive difference in their school and community....
Jubilee 2025
The Holy Father has proclaimed 2025 as a Jubilee Year, a sacred time of renewal, reflection, and grace celebrated every 25 years. With the theme “Pilgrims of Hope,” this Jubilee invites all Catholics to embark on a journey of faith and transformation.
Declared by Pope Francis, this Holy Year is a time of spiritual renewal, reconciliation, and unity, encouraging Catholics to journey together. Catholic schools are invited to take part in this global event by engaging in service, reflection, and community celebrations, helping students grow in faith and live out the message of hope in their daily lives.
Join us as we step forward together—united as Pilgrims of Hope.
“Let us help each other discover this encounter with Christ who gives us life, and let us set out on a journey as pilgrims of hope to celebrate that life.” - Pope Francis
We welcomed the anchor
Please join us in worship by watcing a clip from ourCelebration of The Word where we receieved the Jubilee Anchor from Our Lady's Primary School
Reception/Year 1
The children in R/1 thoroughly enjoyed listening to the Scripture story "Jesus Calms the Storm" (Mark 4:35–41). The children were engaged as they heard how Jesus calmed the wind and waves with just His words, showing His power and love. They especially enjoyed reenacting the story. Afterwards, the children shared a quiet moment with Jesus. They reflected on His peace and thought about their hopes for the world, including kindness, safety, and love for all people.
Year 1/2
Year 1/2 welcomed the Jubilee anchor through reflective prayer. They considered how they can be Pilgrims of Hope. Each child journeyed to the anchor with their hopes for a better world.
Year 3/4
Year 3/4 joined together in reflective prayer upon receiving the Jubilee anchor. They thought carefully about how they are pilgrims and how they can collectively make positive changes.
Year 4/5
Year 4/5 welcomed the Jubilee anchor through reflective prayer thinking of their hopes for the future to make the world a better place.
Year 5/6
Year 5/6 supported the GIFT team in celebrating the arrival of the anchor from Our Lady's Catholic Primary School. They led us in our singing and prayers.

Our Pledges
During Transition Day, each class came together to write a pledge, reflecting on the values of the Jubilee and what they mean to us. We thought carefully about the promises we wanted to make and how we could live them out over the next academic year. These class pledges are a shared commitment to making positive choices—showing kindness, respect, and responsibility in our school and wider community.
