SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMME
Sacramental Programme
As part of the Sacramental Programme at Holy Family, the children in Year 3 will be given the oportunity to prepare to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
The ‘Heart speaks to Heart programme’ will guide and prepare your child, working together at home and within the parish to embark on a special journey towards making First Holy Communion.
Throughout the year, the children take part in dedicated lessons that help them understand the meaning and importance of each sacrament. They learn about God’s love, forgiveness, and the significance of the Eucharist through prayer, scripture, and discussion.
The programme also includes family involvement and support from the parish community, with children attending special Masses and participating in key liturgical celebrations.
This journey helps deepen their faith and encourages them to live as active members of the Church.

How we celebrate
Celebration of The Word
The Year 3 children came into school wearing their First Holy Communion outfits. They shared their special experiences with their classmates—talking about how it felt to receive Jesus in the Eucharist and why that moment was so important. With their peers listening in the prayer space, they helped everyone feel part of their joyful journey by reflecting on what they learned and how they felt. This child-led time was a beautiful way to help the whole school community grow closer to God together.
Communion Party
To celebrate the children in Year 3 receiving their First Holy Communion, they had a Communion party filled with joy and excitement. The children came to school dressed in their special Communion outfits and enjoyed a lovely breakfast together—before joining in dancing and singing with friends and teachers. It was a wonderful way to celebrate their special day with enthusiasm and togetherness
Our Catechists
Our Catechists are specially trained to guide our pupils as they encounter Jesus, learn the Church’s teachings, and prepare for sacraments through prayer, Scripture, and community. They are more than teachers—serving as witnesses of faith, companions, and mentors, modeling a life rooted in Gospel values while nurturing spiritual growth in creative, age-appropriate ways
